SC/ST Cell

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all castes, races and tribes declared as Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under Articles 341 and 342 of the Indian Constitution. These groups constitute more than one-fifth of the country’s population. The main objective of providing reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is not only to give jobs to these communities and increase their representation. It is also to improve their status socially and educationally so that they receive their rightful place in society. In addition, the UGC has also encouraged the establishment of SC/ST cells in the colleges/ Universities, to ensure the effective implementation of the reservation policy in admission and recruitment. Our MBA college takes a special interest in facilitating financial support to MBA students in these communities from government agencies and other sources. The SC/ST cell of the institution ensures students belonging to the respective category are encouraged to enrol on career orientation programs. This will equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option. IASMS’ SC/ST cell was established in 2018.
