About our Research Committee
Research is a central part of the academic mission of an institution offering management education as it shapes the thinking of our MBA college students and also faculty by advancing the body of knowledge that is conveyed in the classroom.
Research activities generate new knowledge and skills, besides update existing ones. The Research Committee of IASMS aims at encouraging and facilitating research and development activities both among students and faculty. Besides research the committee is also instrumental in creating awareness and stimulate participation in various seminars/ workshops and conferences hosted by management institutes at the state, national and international level. Invited talks and interactions with academicians and industry experts are organised to develop research interest among the students and teachers. The college has ample resources to cultivate research interest, especially through its fully automated library that provides access to rich learning and reference resources that includes research journals, e journals and Projects reports on research work undertaken by previous students.
The Research Committee has been instrumental in reaching out to the academic community in the field of management through the publication of the college journal. The IASMS Journal of Business Spectrum is a Bi-annual peer reviewed Journal from IA School of Management Studies with an ISSN: 0974 – 8016

Vision
IASMS will be a centre of excellence in research and scholarly work by providing strategic leadership and comprehensive support to faculty, graduate students, and the external community. Additionally, the institution offers one of the best MBA programs in the region, providing students with comprehensive and cutting-edge business education.
Mission
This would be fulfilled by enhancing the research profile of the institution. The committee constantly endeavours to encourage, enable and promote research environment in college through its various programs, workshops and seminars for faculty members as well as students.
Some of the specific aims include:
- To encourage, maintain and support research activities
- To monitor the quality of research
- To organise seminars and workshops on Research Methodology for students and faculty
- Motivate faculty to publish research work in quality journals
- Encourage both faculty and teachers to participate in National/International Seminars and conferences.
- To facilitate peer review of research works and enable their publication in reputed journals
- To appraise the faculty members and the students of the latest developments in research.
- To prepare proposal and apply to funding agencies that encourage research activities.
