79th Independence Day Celebration at IAGI
15th August 2025 | Open Auditorium
The Indian Academy Group of Institutions (IAGI) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur, patriotic fervor, and an inspiring spirit on 15th August 2025 at the IADC Open Auditorium. The day’s proceedings commenced at 7:45 AM with the arrival of the Heads of Institutions, followed by the ceremonial flag hoisting. Students representing different IAGI institutions, Anupriya (IACN), Bhoomika (IASMS), Mohammed Ammar (IADC-A), and Mariam Suhail (IAPUC) had the proud privilege of hoisting the National Flag. The Guard of Honour was presented by the NCC cadets, setting a disciplined and dignified tone for the celebration.
The theme of this year’s celebration was “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring Future.” Students delivered thought-provoking speeches on this theme, reminding everyone of the sacrifices of the past and the responsibilities of the present. Syeda Madiha from IACN, Bhargavi Krishna from IASMS, Abdul Shekeeruddin from IADC-A, and Lakshmi B from IAPUC spoke eloquently, leaving the audience with words of pride, gratitude, and motivation. Their perspectives reflected the vibrant diversity of thought that IAGI nurtures among its students.
A colourful cultural segment added further vibrancy to the celebrations. Students from IASMS, IACN, and Nalanda House of IADC-A presented patriotic performances that included songs, dances, and recitations. Each performance was a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of India, its culture, and its enduring values. The performances not only engaged the audience but also served as a reminder of the unity that binds the nation together despite its diversity.
The formal proceedings were gracefully anchored by Dr. Monika Bajpai, Head of the Department of Chemistry, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. Her engaging presence ensured the smooth flow of the program. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mrs. Angela Priya, Lecturer in the Department of English, who acknowledged the efforts of the students, faculty, and staff in making the celebration a grand success.
Following the Independence Day ceremony, Vivaad 2025 – The Great Indian Academy Debate was conducted at the Multipurpose Hall. The debate carried the tagline “One Mic. One Stage. One Epic,” and witnessed enthusiastic participation from IAGI institutions. With three members per team, participants showcased their debating prowess on contemporary and thought-provoking issues. Eminent judges formed the jury, and their valuable insights elevated the quality of the competition. The debate stood as a powerful platform for students to engage in critical thinking, articulate opinions, and sharpen their public speaking skills.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners of Vivaad 2025 and the distribution of prizes. The day’s celebrations left a strong impression on all attendees, combining patriotic zeal with academic engagement. The 79th Independence Day at IAGI was not only a tribute to the nation’s freedom but also an affirmation of the institution’s commitment to shaping inspired, responsible, and future-ready individuals.
