On 11th July 2025, the IA School of Management Studies (IASMS) successfully hosted its much- anticipated Model United Nations (MUN) session, drawing participation from students, alumni, and distinguished guests. The event commenced at 11:00 AM and brought together budding diplomats for an immersive experience simulating United Nations proceedings. Held within the vibrant academic ambiance of IASMS, the session offered students a platform to discuss global
issues, sharpen public speaking skills, and explore real-world diplomacy.
Participants represented various countries and tackled pressing topics ranging from climate action and global security to humanitarian responses. The UN emblem and a row of international flags formed a powerful backdrop, reinforcing the event’s commitment to global unity and collaborative problem-solving. Formal attire and professional demeanor added a layer of authenticity to the simulated diplomatic environment.
The session was honored by the presence of two special guests. Prof. A Kuppuswamy, a respected alumni faculty member, inspired students with his reflections on academic excellence and institutional growth. Sushmitha CS, an Operations Analyst at JP Morgan Chase and IASMS alumna from the 2020–23 batch, shared her insights into the corporate world and highlighted the importance of communication and leadership skills that MUNs help cultivate.
Throughout the session, delegates debated fiercely yet respectfully, passed mock resolutions, and experienced the intensity and nuance of international negotiation. The moderated caucuses, formal speeches, and spontaneous rebuttals created an atmosphere of intellectual challenge and camaraderie. Faculty members and organizers praised students for their thoughtful research and poised presentations.
The event was beautifully documented with photographs of delegates in action, faculty interactions, and the ceremonial welcome. These visuals, alongside the official MUN poster and special invitee announcement, were shared across IASMS social media platforms and the official website. The school also published a highlight reel to showcase the depth and enthusiasm of the participants.
The IASMS MUN session proved to be more than just an academic exercise; it was a celebration of global citizenship and strategic thinking. Feedback from students and guests alike emphasized the value of experiential learning, and the event is already being looked upon as a benchmark for future initiatives. IASMS extended its gratitude to all attendees and reiterated its dedication to nurturing future leaders who think globally and act locally.
