Industrial Visit & Experiential Learning Trip to Coorg and Mangaluru

IA School of Management Studies arranged a very stimulating, educational Industrial Visit and Fun Trip to Coorg and Mangaluru on the 27th to 29th January 2025, organized by Dr. Madhvi Latha and Prof. Rajiv Anand Palled. This trip, quite unlike conventional field trips, presented an unparalleled opportunity for students of management studies, where learning and recreation thrive together hand in hand.

On 27th January, they visited Klene Pack Pvt. Ltd. where they gathered more than enough understanding of manufacturing processes, extrusion processes, lamination processes, printing, 4, 5, 6 compartment pouches and all the things that go into packaging, including quality control, supply chain, logistics and methods for maintaining industrial safety practices within the flexible packaging sector. After visiting KPL, they were taken to the Cup of Family Cafe (Kottigehara);
there they enjoyed wild varieties of food produced locally. After lunch we proceeded to the Mandya dairy union’s industrial process plant (MANMUL).

During their visit of MANMUL, the students gathered an understanding of cold chain processes for the dairy supply chain process from end to end. They learned about steps for procurements for raw milk, cold chain processing, filling process, quality control, pre-packaging, post- packaged processes before distribution by cold vehicles. While there, the students also gained knowledge of a cooperative model and farmer collaboration.
