The Pocket Student Dialogue Forum is a 90-minute virtual platform designed to promote cross-cultural understanding, academic exchange, and collaborative global citizenship among students from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Oman and India. This initiative aims to nurture young leaders who can engage thoughtfully with global challenges, appreciate cultural diversity, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development. This is a collaboration between University of Technology and Applied Sciences, UTAS (Oman) and IA School of Management Studies ,IASMS, India .
The forum scheduled on 13th November 2025, brought together students from India and Oman. Discussions revolved around four major themes: Cultural Tapestry, Academic Frontiers, AI in Education & Life, and SDGs in Action. Through these focused conversations, participants will explore traditions and values, compare educational experiences, discuss the ethical integration of AI, and share real-life engagement with Sustainable Development Goals.
Each session followed a structured 90-minute format, beginning with a welcome segment and icebreaker introductions, followed by a moderated panel discussion. Students were given equal speaking opportunity through timed responses. The interaction continues with an open dialogue segment where participants engage more freely, ask questions, and build on each other’s ideas. The forum concluded with reflections, key takeaways, and guidance on future collaboration—such as shared digital spaces for continued engagement.
The IA School of Management Studies (IASMS) regularly organizes its flagship International Conference – Convergence, a prestigious academic forum conducted annually from 2023 onwards. The conference serves as a global platform that brings together academicians, researchers, corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, and students to deliberate on contemporary issues in management and business.
Convergence focuses on emerging themes related to innovation, agility, sustainability, and growth across key functional areas such as finance, marketing, human resources, logistics, and general management. Through expert sessions, paper presentations, and interactive discussions, Convergence has evolved into a vibrant knowledge-sharing platform. The IA School of Management Studies (IASMS) actively engages in a wide range of National Service Scheme (NSS) activities aimed at fostering social responsibility, community engagement, and nation-building among students. Through regular participation in community development programs, awareness campaigns, health initiatives, and educational outreach, NSS at IASMS instills values of service, leadership, empathy, and civic consciousness.
IASMS NSS volunteers consistently take part in cleanliness drives, environmental awareness programs, health and hygiene campaigns, blood donation camps, literacy initiatives, and social awareness activities. These initiatives provide students with hands-on exposure to real-world challenges while encouraging teamwork, discipline, and a spirit of selfless service.
One of the flagship initiatives of NSS at IASMS is the School Transformation Project, undertaken in collaboration with allied institutions and community partners. As part of this initiative, students actively contribute to the physical and emotional transformation of government school environments. Activities include cleaning and renovation, painting classrooms, creating educational and motivational murals, and improving the overall learning atmosphere for young students. This project reflects the belief that improved infrastructure and inspiring spaces can positively influence education and student morale.

During the MUN sessions, participants represent different countries and deliberate on critical topics such as climate change, global security, and humanitarian challenges. The formal setting, complete with the UN emblem and international flags, creates an authentic diplomatic environment that enhances the learning experience. Students participate in structured debates, moderated caucuses, formal speeches, and resolution drafting, developing strong public speaking, negotiation, and analytical skills.

The program connects IASMS students with peers from universities across the world, enabling them to work together virtually on real-time business projects.
As part of the X-Culture program, students are grouped into diverse international teams and assigned complex managerial and strategic business challenges.
